A genre defying collaborative live performance project bringing together young urban, jazz, electronic & classical musicians. FUSE 2014 was a collaboration with Tomorrows Warriors at The Southbank Centre and Brighton Dome and also included spoken word and video projection.
Our annual showcase of upcoming talent. The event is a series of short performances from young musicians attending our various projects around the region. It also includes the presentation of the annual Simon D’Souza Award
A modern ensemble that represents all young people today and the music they make and listen too. Encoraging collaborations with other young musicians to create and perform exciting new music . Supported by Mercury Prize nominated artist Pete Wareham (Polar Bear/Melt Yoursefl Down) and a team of expert artists & musicians. More Information
A ground breaking partnership project between AudioActive, RISE and Brighton & Hove City Council; Break4Change works with families in crisis due to ‘Child to Parent Violence’. AudioActive developed the creative and film aspects of the project, designed to promote the empathy and emotional literacy of participants and ultimately to stop the violence and abuse exhibited by teenagers towards their parents and carers.
A young music leadership training programme run in partnership with Brighton & Hove Youth Offending Service where to date, 80% of trainees have gained paid employment as a result of the project.
The Lab – Rye
AudioActive’s music studio and workshop space in Rye, East Sussex and home to our weekly DJ academy, music production workshops and rap school. The Lab helps talented young contemporary musicians to overcome rural isolation to participate in projects and collaborate with peers further afield.
Our innovative action research project investigating to what extent Restorative Justice processes and outcomes can be embedded and achieved through a documentary film making project for young
offenders. remediate is run in partnership with Brighton & Hove Youth Offending Service, Sussex Police & University of Brighton.
Artsmark Wider Reach
A strategic project supporting 5 special schools in West Sussex to position themselves to successfully apply for Artsmark accreditation by developing a programme of in-curriculum music technology activities.
We develop and deliver an artist led, vocational digital & media curriculum at this school for young people with SEN & EBD.
Hove Park School
In Summer 2014 we worked with a group of students to create a collaborative performance piece using only iPads and a range of cutting edge apps.
We offer a range of in-curriculum or after school activities including one-to-one mentoring, DJing, Live Looping, Rap & Lyric Writing.
