Music and wellbeing for young women

Over a quarter (26%) of young women aged between 16–24 years old report having a common mental health problem in any given week.  (Mind, 2020)

Launched in 2021, Vocalise is a weekly song and lyric writing session for young women.

With a focus on the positive effect that singing and rapping can have on a young person’s mental wellbeing, those who attend the free sessions are encouraged to let it all out in a laid-back space, led by female musicians and mental health experts.

We welcome all that identify as women, non-binary and gender variant individuals to Vocalise.

  • “Even after just a few sessions, you can see the rise in confidence of the Young People that attend Vocalise.”
